Bireysel g\u00f6r\u00fcnse de \u00c7erkes insan\u0131n\u0131n bu t\u00fcr olaylarda ad\u0131 ge\u00e7mesi toplumumuz a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan ders olacak niteliktedir. Her \u00fclkede her devirde halk\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan sevilen, say\u0131lan, vatansever, \u00fclkesi i\u00e7in cansiperane \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015f, kimi kendi d\u00f6neminde, kimi daha sonra takdir g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015f ya da her zaman ge\u00e7mi\u015fte de g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde de hayranl\u0131k ve \u015f\u00fckran duyulan pek \u00e7ok kahraman vard\u0131r.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bu tarihi kahramanlardan biri de devrinin en parlak, en ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131, h\u00fcrriyetperver siyaset adamlar\u0131ndan biri olan Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;d\u0131r. Onun ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 devlet adaml\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, nas\u0131l su\u00e7lan\u0131p h\u00fck\u00fcm giydi\u011fini, Taif zindan\u0131na gidi\u015fini ve oradaki ya\u015fam\u0131n\u0131 \u015fahadetine ve hatta sonras\u0131na kadar olan<br \/>\nolaylar\u0131 ele alan pek \u00e7ok kaynak vard\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Bunlardan \u0130smail Hakk\u0131 Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131 ve Bekir S\u0131tk\u0131 Baykal\u2019\u0131n bu konudaki eserleri ba\u015fta olmak \u00fczere Taif \u00f6ncesini, Taif&#8217;i ve Taif sonras\u0131n\u0131 olaylarda ad\u0131 ge\u00e7en her \u015fah\u0131s i\u00e7in ayr\u0131 bak\u0131\u015f a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131yla birinci elden belgelere dayanarak konu edinen \u00e7ok say\u0131da kaynak bulunmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Ancak bilgi \u00e7oklu\u011fu, belge \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fi ile dokunmu\u015f, uzun bir s\u00fcreci kapsayan, \u00e7ok say\u0131da ki\u015finin yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 tarihi olaylar zincirini irdeleyen bu kaynaklar\u0131n bilimsel, belgesel bir anlat\u0131mla sunduklar\u0131 bu s\u00fcre\u00e7te her olay\u0131n \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli olu\u015fu, bir \u00e7ok belgeye dayanan uzun ve ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 ele al\u0131n\u0131\u015f\u0131 gibi nedenlerle \u00fczerinde durmak istedi\u011fimiz &#8220;\u015eahadet Gecesi&#8221;ni g\u00f6zden biraz uzak tutup ve bizce \u00fczerinde durulup, her ayr\u0131nt\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n titizlikle tetkik edilmesi gereken &#8220;\u015eahadet Cinayeti&#8221;nin araya s\u0131k\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015f bir deh\u015fet olay\u0131 olarak kalmas\u0131na yol a\u00e7t\u0131klar\u0131 kan\u0131s\u0131d\u0131r ki &#8220;\u015eahadet&#8221; olay\u0131n\u0131 ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 bir \u015fekilde ele aImam\u0131za neden olmu\u015ftur. &#8220;\u015eahadet Olay\u0131&#8221;, neden o gecenin ba\u015fl\u0131 ba\u015f\u0131na inceleme konusu olarak ele al\u0131nmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesine gelince; bizi bu olaylar zincirinin en b\u00fcy\u00fck ve en dramatik sonucunun, bir anlamda son noktas\u0131n\u0131n olmas\u0131 \u00f6tesinde insan olmak a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan da ilgilendirdi\u011fi i\u00e7indir.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6mr\u00fc boyunca devletine, milletine b\u00fcy\u00fck hizmetler vermi\u015f, geldi\u011fi konum itibariyle asla b\u00f6yle bir sona yak\u0131\u015fmayan, bu kadar deh\u015fetli ve dramatik bir cinayete kurban gidece\u011fi akla bile gelmeyecek kadar \u015fanl\u0131, ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 bir pa\u015fan\u0131n i\u015flemedi\u011fi bir su\u00e7 i\u00e7in (Sultan Abd\u00fclaziz&#8217;in hallinden sonra \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcyle su\u00e7lananlardan en \u00f6nemli \u015fahsiyet Mithat Pa\u015fa\u2019yd\u0131) en a\u011f\u0131r ve hakir cezalara, davran\u0131\u015flara maruz b\u0131rak\u0131l\u0131p, en a\u015fa\u011f\u0131lay\u0131c\u0131 \u00f6l\u00fcme (her ne kadar \u015fehitlik mertebesine ula\u015fm\u0131\u015f ise de i\u015flenen c\u00fcr\u00fcm insanl\u0131k d\u0131\u015f\u0131 bir zul\u00fcmd\u00fcr) mahkum edilip, an be an \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc g\u00f6stere g\u00f6stere, ya\u015fata ya\u015fata ecelin so\u011fuk nefesini hissettire hissettire manen ve maddeten \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fclmesi hangi insanl\u0131\u011fa s\u0131\u011far ki?<\/p>\n<p>Zaten d\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc\u011f\u00fc durumun a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131 alt\u0131nda ezilen, g\u00fcvenmedi\u011fi ki\u015filere minnet etmemek i\u00e7in rahats\u0131zl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 bile (1) bildirmek istemeyen, yak\u0131nlar\u0131n\u0131 i\u00e7ine bulundu\u011fu durumun vahametinden uzakla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131p \u00fcz\u00fclmelerini \u00f6nlemek i\u00e7in mektup yazarak teskin etmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan, \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fclece\u011fine kesin kanaat getirdikten sonra \u00e7aresizlikle o an\u0131n gelmesini bekleyen bir insan\u0131n psikolojisini, d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerini ve o an geldi\u011finde nas\u0131l bir ruh hali ya\u015fad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnmek bile bizi deh\u015fete d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcrmeye yeter.<\/p>\n<p>Bu nedenle bu kadar dramatik bir olay\u0131n, olaylar zinciri i\u00e7ersinde kaybolup gitmesine raz\u0131 olmak as\u0131l konunun, bu cinayetin vah\u015feti olu\u011funa dikkat \u00e7ekmek d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesine kap\u0131lmamak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn de\u011fildir.<\/p>\n<p>\u015eahadet gecesinin ve cinayet an\u0131n\u0131 konu edinen bir \u00e7ok belge ve eser yan\u0131nda T\u00fcrk \u0130nk\u0131lap Tarihi Ar\u015fivi&#8217;nde rastlad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z ve T\u00fcrk Tarih Kurumu K\u00fct\u00fcphanesi\u2019nde de bulunan \u00e7ok sade ve yal\u0131n bir dille olay\u0131 hikaye eden, yazar\u0131 belli olmayan (2) k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck bir kitap\u00e7\u0131k (muhtemelen muhtasar risale olmal\u0131, muhtasar risale olmasa bile mufassal risale ile \u00e7ok b\u00fcy\u00fck benzerlikler g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi ve hemen hemen ayn\u0131 c\u00fcmlelerin kullan\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 di\u011fer kaynaklarda da tamam\u0131 yer almad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in, her kayna\u011fa kar\u015f\u0131 duymam\u0131z gereken \u015f\u00fcpheyi elden b\u0131rakmayarak risaleyi tan\u0131tmak d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesindeyiz. Hayrullah beyin risalesi olma ihtimali kuvvetli oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in, aksini ispatlayana kadar onun risalesi olarak kabul edece\u011fiz.) Mithat Pa\u015fa olay\u0131 ger\u00e7e\u011fini bir kere daha de\u011fi\u015fik bir a\u00e7\u0131dan ele almam\u0131z gerekti\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fcrd\u00fc.<\/p>\n<p>Bu konudaki kaynaklar\u0131 birbiriyle kritik ederek, insani a\u00e7\u0131dan ele alaca\u011f\u0131m\u0131z olayla ilgili k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck kitap\u00e7\u0131\u011f\u0131 temel alarak, yeri geldi\u011fince di\u011fer kaynaklarla destekleyerek \u015eahadete giden s\u00fcreci yeniden irdelemek istedik.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc temel alaca\u011f\u0131m\u0131z k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck kitap\u00e7\u0131k Mithat Pa\u015fa ile ayn\u0131 kaderi payla\u015fan onlara manevi ba\u011flarla ba\u011fl\u0131 olan, olaylar\u0131 onlarla birlikte ya\u015fayan ancak cinayetten kurtulan bir ki\u015fi taraf\u0131ndan (1874\u2019de \u015feyh\u00fclislam olan ve Abd\u00fclaziz&#8217;in halline dair fetva veren ve bunun i\u00e7in su\u00e7lanan Hayrullah Efendi olmal\u0131) (3) ele al\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in, eser belgesel niteli\u011finin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra hikaye edilen cinayetin deh\u015fetine, Taif&#8217;deki talihsiz kurbanlar\u0131n \u00e7aresizli\u011fine dikkat \u00e7ekmektedir.<\/p>\n<p>Bu kitap\u00e7\u0131\u011f\u0131n ba\u015flang\u0131c\u0131nda yazar, Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n terc\u00fcme-i halini ileride risale \u015feklinde yay\u0131nlanaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131, \u015fimdilik m\u00fcsvedde niteli\u011finde oldu\u011funu belirtmektedir.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u015eehid-i mumaileyhin tarihleri mazbut olarak m\u00fckemmel bir terc\u00fcme-i halini ileride risale \u015feklinde tab ettirdi\u011fimiz vakit yazmak \u00fczere \u015fimdilik muhtasar ve umumi surette tahririyle iktifa edece\u011fiz&#8230;&#8221; (4)<\/p>\n<p>\u0130smail Hakk\u0131 Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131 eserinde mufassal risaleden yararland\u0131\u011f\u0131na, muhtasar risale ile mufassal risalelerin benzer noktalar\u0131 bulundu\u011funa i\u015faret etmekte ve Mithat Pa\u015fa ile arkada\u015flar\u0131n\u0131n Taif&#8217;e g\u00f6nderilmesiyle ba\u015flayan incelemesini, onlar\u0131n Taif&#8217;deki ya\u015fant\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131, \u015fahadetlerini, di\u011fer tutuklular ve tutuklulara nezaret eden g\u00f6revliler hakk\u0131nda bilgi vererek, belgelerle \u00f6rnekleyerek bitirmektedir.<\/p>\n<p>Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131, kitab\u0131nda mufassal risaleye yeri geldi\u011fince olaylarla ilgili olan k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131 par\u00e7a par\u00e7a olmak \u00fczere de\u011fi\u015fik b\u00f6l\u00fcmlerde yer vermektedir. Risalenin tamam\u0131n\u0131, aynen vermekten \u00e7ok, i\u015fledi\u011fi konuyu destekleyen k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131n\u0131 ele alm\u0131\u015f, bazen de muhtasar risale ve di\u011fer kaynaklarla<br \/>\nk\u0131yaslam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Biz elimizde olan kitap\u00e7\u0131\u011fa daha fazla yere vererek, hatta bu risaleyi tan\u0131t\u0131m mahiyetinde bir irdelemeyle olaylar\u0131 hikayelendirmeyi, \u015eahadet olay\u0131n\u0131 duygusal a\u00e7\u0131dan vurgulayarak anlatmay\u0131 ama\u00e7lad\u0131k.<\/p>\n<p>Bunun i\u00e7in risaleden s\u00f6z ederek ve yeri geldi\u011fince ba\u015fka kaynaklarla kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131rarak, olay\u0131 birazda duygusal bir yakla\u015f\u0131mla ele alaca\u011f\u0131z. K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck kitap\u00e7\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131zla birlikte kritik edece\u011fimiz kitaplar -bu konuda yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f bir \u00e7ok kaynak olmakla beraber- birinci elden belgelere dayanan temel nitelikli olu\u015flar\u0131ndan dolay\u0131 &#8220;Mithat Pa\u015fa ve Taif Mahkumlar\u0131 (Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131, \u0130smail Hakk\u0131) &#8220;\u0130bretn\u00fcma&#8221; (Baykal, Bekir S\u0131tk\u0131) &#8220;Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8221; (Y\u00fcceba\u015f, A.Hilmi) &#8220;Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n Hat\u0131ralar\u0131&#8221; (O. Selim Kocahano\u011flu) adl\u0131 eserler olacakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Her olay ya da ki\u015fi hakk\u0131nda hepsinde ayr\u0131 yerlerde, farkl\u0131 de\u011ferlendirmeler yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Birinde ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 ele al\u0131nan bir konu di\u011ferinde k\u0131saca verilmi\u015f oldu\u011fundan birlikte kritik edilecektir.<\/p>\n<p>Temel ald\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z risalenin ba\u015flang\u0131c\u0131nda neden kaleme al\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131 ifade edilip Mithat pa\u015fa hakk\u0131nda bilgi verilmeye ge\u00e7ilmektedir.<\/p>\n<p>Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n Ni\u015f&#8217;e tayin edildi\u011fini (5) oradaki ba\u015far\u0131s\u0131 nedeniyle \u00f6rnek bir uygulama sonucu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclen Tuna vilayeti valili\u011fine getirildi\u011fini, buradaki Bulgar komitalar\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131 g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi siyasi ba\u015far\u0131 nedeniyle \u00f6nceleri hem Bab-\u0131 Ali&#8217;nin hem de yabanc\u0131 devletlerin takdirini kazand\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 (6) sonralar\u0131 kendi politikalar\u0131n\u0131n tehlikeye girdi\u011fini g\u00f6ren yabanc\u0131 devletlerin, Bab-\u0131 Ali&#8217;ye Mithat Pa\u015fa\u2019n\u0131n komitac\u0131lara kar\u015f\u0131 ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 tedbir ve cezalar\u0131 \u015fikayet ettiklerini, bunun \u00fczerine Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n \u0130stanbul&#8217;a \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 1872 senesinde birinci defa sadrazaml\u0131\u011fa getirildi\u011fini belirtmektedir. (7)<\/p>\n<p>Yazar, Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n Sadarete ge\u00e7i\u015finden sonras\u0131 i\u00e7in yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 de\u011ferlendirmede Sultan Abd\u00fclaziz&#8217;in keyfi icraatta bulundu\u011funu, Esad Pa\u015fa&#8217;y\u0131 H\u00fcseyin Avni Pa\u015fa&#8217;y\u0131 Mahmud Nedim Pa\u015fa&#8217;y\u0131 dama oyunu oynar gibi \u00fc\u00e7-be\u015f g\u00fcnde bir sadrazaml\u0131k makam\u0131na getirmeye ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ve bu nedenle Sadrazam Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;y\u0131 Ba\u011fdat&#8217;a Vali olarak g\u00f6nderdi\u011fini ifade etmektedir. (8) Risalenin devam\u0131nda da Mithat Pa\u015fan\u0131n Beyrut\u2019taki ba\u015far\u0131lar\u0131 anlat\u0131lmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Yazar, onun F\u0131rat&#8217;ta vapur i\u015fletti\u011finden \u00e7ok g\u00fczel yollar yapt\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan ve ge\u00e7mi\u015fte Bulgarlar\u0131 T\u00fcrk mezaliminden kurtarmak i\u00e7in gelen Ruslar\u0131n, Tuna&#8217;n\u0131n (\u015fimdiki Bulgaristan) geli\u015fimine hayran kal\u0131p k\u00f6yl\u00fclere &#8220;siz bize zaruretten, sefaletten \u015fikayet ediyor idiniz bu zenginli\u011fi bu ma\u011fmuriyeti nank\u00f6r g\u00f6zleriniz g\u00f6rm\u00fcyor mu idi\u2019\u2019 (9) diye sormak zorunda kald\u0131klar\u0131ndan bahsederek pa\u015fan\u0131n ne kadar isabetli ve ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 i\u015fler yapm\u0131\u015f oldu\u011funu vurgulamaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Daha sonra risalede yazar Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n Ba\u011fdat\u2019tan \u0130stanbul&#8217;a davet edilerek \u015euray-\u0131 Devlet Reisli\u011fi\u2019ne tayin edildi\u011fini, bu s\u0131rada Sultan Abd\u00fclaziz&#8217;in \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcyle Saltanat\u2019a Sultan Murat&#8217;\u0131n ge\u00e7ti\u011fi ancak rahats\u0131zl\u0131\u011f\u0131 nedeniyle yerine Sultan Abd\u00fclhamit\u2019in h\u00fck\u00fcmdar oldu\u011funu, Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n yeniden Sadaret Makam\u0131\u2019na getirildi\u011fini, bunun sadece vakit kazanmak i\u00e7in yap\u0131lan bir hile oldu\u011fu ve bu s\u0131rada Kanun-i Esasi&#8217;nin ilan edildi\u011fini ve yasan\u0131n bir maddesi (113. madde) gere\u011fince vatan\u0131ndan s\u00fcr\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc (10) baz\u0131 devletlerin araya girmesiyle \u00f6nce Suriye&#8217;ye oradan da \u0130zmir&#8217;e Yali olarak tayin edildi\u011fini anlatmaktad\u0131r.&#8221; (11)<\/p>\n<p>Mithat Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n \u0130zmir&#8217;e naklinin, \u0130stanbul&#8217;a yak\u0131n olmas\u0131 i\u00e7in d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc ve bir &#8220;Mahkeme-i K\u00fcbray-\u0131 Cinayet&#8221; olu\u015fturularak idama mahkum edildi\u011fi belirtilen risalede &#8220;o b\u00fcy\u00fck adam\u0131 ne ezillerle mahv ve telef etti\u011fini erbab-\u0131 hamiyetteten bir zat-\u0131 hakiki ve mufassal olarak bir risalesiyle bildirdi\u011finden bervech-i ati nakl ediyoruz. (12) denmekte ve olaylar aktar\u0131lmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Risalede Taif \u00f6ncesine pek de\u011finilmemektedir. Pa\u015falar nas\u0131l ve neyle su\u00e7land\u0131lar? Nas\u0131l h\u00fck\u00fcm giydiler ve Taif&#8217;de nas\u0131l getirildiler? \u0130lk g\u00fcnleri nas\u0131l ge\u00e7ti? Kalenin durumu nas\u0131ld\u0131? Bunun gibi sorular\u0131n cevab\u0131n\u0131 Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131 ve Baykal&#8217;\u0131n (13) eserlerinde ayr\u0131nt\u0131s\u0131yla buluyoruz.
