Y\u00fczy\u0131llar boyunca \u015fehrin sosyal hayat\u0131na, \u00e7ar\u015f\u0131s\u0131na, pazar\u0131na, kahvesine, meyhanesine, soka\u011f\u0131na damgas\u0131n\u0131 vurmu\u015f olan Rumca, \u0130stanbul\u2019un bir kamu dili olma \u00f6zelli\u011fini yitirir. Elbette bir g\u00fcnde olup biten bir \u015fey de\u011fildir bu.<\/p>\n<p>Rumca<span lang=\"en-us\">&#8216;<\/span>n\u0131n \u015fehir hayat\u0131ndan \u00e7ekilmesi, on y\u0131llard\u0131r devam eden T\u00fcrkle\u015ftirme politikalar\u0131n\u0131n ve bizzat bu politikalar\u0131n m\u00fcsebbibi oldu\u011fu demografik erozyonun k\u00fcm\u00fclatif etkisinin bir sonucu olarak ger\u00e7ekle\u015fir.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6nce d\u00fckk\u00e2n tabelalar\u0131ndaki Rumca ibareler silinir, yer isimleri (sadece Aya Stefanos ya da Samatya gibi semt isimleri de\u011fil, onlarca sokak ismi de) millile\u015ftirilir.<\/p>\n<p>S\u0131ra insanlara gelir.<\/p>\n<p>\u0130lk ve esas olarak 1920\u2019li y\u0131llar\u0131n sonunda ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilen (ama 1960\u2019lar\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131 da dahil olmak \u00fczere zaman zaman yeniden g\u00fcndeme gelen) \u201cVatanda\u015f T\u00fcrk\u00e7e konu\u015f\u201d kampanyalar\u0131yla Rumlar da dahil az\u0131nl\u0131k topluluklar\u0131ndan umumi yerlerde T\u00fcrk\u00e7e konu\u015fmalar\u0131, bu suretle de T\u00fcrk dil ve k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc \u00f6z\u00fcmsemeleri talep edilir.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6zellikle mektepli gen\u00e7li\u011fin \u201czinde kuvvetlerini\u201d olu\u015fturdu\u011fu bu kampanya tramvaylarda, vapurlarda, gazino, \u00e7ay bah\u00e7eleri, sinema, tiyatro gibi e\u011flence ve sayfiye yerlerinde, caddelerde, meydanlarda, sokaklarda, az\u0131nl\u0131klar\u0131n yo\u011fun olarak ya\u015fad\u0131klar\u0131 ve \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131klar\u0131 semtlerde s\u00fcrekli bir gerilim kayna\u011f\u0131 olur. <b>Rumca veya sair az\u0131nl\u0131k dillerinde gazete okuyan insanlar\u0131n ellerinden gazeteler \u00f6fkeyle al\u0131n\u0131p y\u0131rt\u0131l\u0131r. T\u00fcrk\u00e7e konu\u015fmayan kimselere devaml\u0131 m\u00fcdahale edilmesiyle s\u0131k s\u0131k kavgalar meydana gelir.<\/b> S\u00fcrekli tehdit alt\u0131nda olundu\u011fu, her an bir m\u00fcdahaleyle kar\u015f\u0131la\u015f\u0131labilece\u011fi korkusuyla umumi yerlerde iki ki\u015fi aras\u0131nda Rumca konu\u015fmak neredeyse imk\u00e2ns\u0131z hale gelir.<\/p>\n<p><b>Otosans\u00fcr ve otokontrol<\/p>\n<p><\/b>Rumca elbette sadece s\u00f6zl\u00fc ileti\u015fimde kullan\u0131lan bir dil de\u011fildi. Ard\u0131nda devasa bir yaz\u0131l\u0131 k\u00fclt\u00fcr gelene\u011fi olan ve 19. y\u00fczy\u0131ldan itibaren bilhassa \u0130stanbul matbuat hayat\u0131nda ciddi bir yeri olan bir dildi. Rumca kitaplar, gazeteler, dergiler, \u0130stanbul yay\u0131n hayat\u0131n\u0131n demirba\u015flar\u0131yd\u0131. 1950\u2019li y\u0131llar\u0131n ortalar\u0131na kadar \u00e7ok say\u0131da Rumca gazete bas\u0131n \u00e2leminin vazge\u00e7ilmez bir par\u00e7as\u0131yd\u0131. Elbette pembe bir tablo de\u011fildi s\u00f6z konusu olan. Tek parti devrinde zaten olduk\u00e7a \u201ckontroll\u00fc\u201d olan bas\u0131n rejimi, Rumca ve di\u011fer az\u0131nl\u0131k yay\u0131nlar\u0131 i\u00e7in tam bir cendere anlam\u0131na geliyordu.<\/p>\n<p>Otosans\u00fcr ve otokontrol, az\u0131nl\u0131k bas\u0131n\u0131n yeg\u00e2ne var kalma stratejisiydi. Bir\u00e7ok T\u00fcrk\u00e7e gazete (bilhassa K\u0131br\u0131s meselesinin g\u00fcndeme geldi\u011fi d\u00f6nemlerde) Rumca bilen elemanlar istihdam ederek Rumca gazete ya da dergilerin \u201ca\u00e7\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131\u201d kolluyor, onlar\u0131n \u201cihanete meyyal\u201d yay\u0131nlar\u0131n\u0131 duyurmay\u0131 milli bir vazife addediyordu. Gazeteler kapat\u0131labiliyor ya da 6-7 Eyl\u00fcl \u201colaylar\u0131\u201d s\u0131ras\u0131nda ger\u00e7ekle\u015fti\u011fi \u00fczere matbaalar hedef halini alabiliyordu.<\/p>\n<p>Bu ko\u015fullarda Rum yay\u0131nc\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 hep karars\u0131z ve \u00fcrkek bir dengenin esiri oldu ve bilhassa 1960\u2019larda (\u00f6zellikle de 1964 \u201cs\u00fcrg\u00fcnleriyle\u201d birlikte) g\u00fcndeme gelen h\u0131zl\u0131 demografik \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fclmenin ilk kurbanlar\u0131ndan biri oldu. Her on y\u0131lda bir, bir ba\u015fka felaketle (vergi, pogrom, s\u00fcrg\u00fcn) y\u00fcz y\u00fcze kalan Rumlar \u00e7areyi topraklar\u0131n\u0131 terk etmekte bulduk\u00e7a Rum bas\u0131n-yay\u0131n hayat\u0131 da soldu. Gazetelerin say\u0131s\u0131 azald\u0131, dergiler kapand\u0131. B\u0131rak\u0131n yeni kitaplar\u0131n bas\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131, az\u0131nl\u0131k okullar\u0131nda dersler i\u00e7in Rumca kitap bulmak dahi imk\u00e2ns\u0131zla\u015ft\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>1980\u2019li y\u0131llarda ilkokulda fen bilgisi dersinde, ta 1960\u2019lar\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131nda \u0130stanbul\u2019da bas\u0131lm\u0131\u015f bir ders kitab\u0131m\u0131z oldu\u011funu, yirmi y\u0131ld\u0131r okulda \u00f6\u011frenciler taraf\u0131ndan s\u0131rayla kullan\u0131la kullan\u0131la lime lime olmu\u015f kitapta \u201cinsanl\u0131k bir g\u00fcn Ay\u2019a mutlaka ayak basacak\u201d t\u00fcr\u00fc sat\u0131rlar\u0131 okudu\u011fumuzu hat\u0131rl\u0131yorum. <b>1960\u2019lardan itibaren Rumca kitaplar\u0131n bas\u0131lmamas\u0131, say\u0131s\u0131 giderek azalan gazetelerin ise ancak d\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn, vaftiz ve \u00f6zellikle de \u00f6l\u00fcm ilanlar\u0131 haricinde pek az malzemeye yer verir olu\u015fuyla birlikte Rumca, okunan bir dil olmaktan \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131 art\u0131k.<\/b> Rumca okuyacak bir \u015fey bulmak ancak \u201cd\u0131\u015f destekle\u201d, yani Yunanistan\u2019dan getirilen kitap, dergi ya da gazetelerle m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fc.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6\u011fretmen olan annem \u00e7ocuklar\u0131n\u0131n bu yaz\u0131l\u0131 gelenekle ba\u011flar\u0131n\u0131n kopmas\u0131n\u0131 istemedi\u011finden \u00e7areyi Yunanistan\u2019dan \u00e7ok say\u0131da resimli mitoloji kitab\u0131 ve (neyse ki) \u00e7izgi roman almakta bulmu\u015ftu (bu y\u00fczden Red Kit\u2019i Luki Luk, Kaptan Swing\u2019i Mark, \u00c7elik Blek\u2019i ise sadece Blek olarak tan\u0131d\u0131m). Netice itibariyle Yunanca<span lang=\"en-us\">&#8216;<\/span>n\u0131n kendine has bir kolu olan Rumca kamu hayat\u0131ndan s\u00f6k\u00fcl\u00fcp at\u0131l\u0131nca soldu, evlerde dahi g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fckle ayakta tutulabilir hale geldi.<\/p>\n<p>Ba\u015fa d\u00f6nersek, 1960\u2019l\u0131 y\u0131llarda bir ara, \u0130stanbul\u2019un sosyal tarihinde b\u00fcy\u00fck ihtimalle \u00e7o\u011fumuzun fark etmedi\u011fi bir k\u0131r\u0131lma ya\u015fand\u0131: Rumca bu \u015fehrin dillerinden biri olmaktan \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131. Rumca, Rumlarla birlikte s\u00fcrg\u00fcn edilince \u0130stanbul kamusu da bu dille d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnmez, yazmaz, konu\u015fmaz oldu. \u0130stos Yay\u0131nlar\u0131 olarak 40 k\u00fcsur y\u0131l sonra \u0130stanbul\u2019da yeniden Rumca (hem de \u0130stanbullu bir Rum taraf\u0131ndan kaleme al\u0131nm\u0131\u015f) bir roman\u0131 yay\u0131mlamaktaki gayemiz, her \u015feyden \u00f6nce bu kesintiye, bu kesintinin yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131 k\u00fclt\u00fcrel tahribata, daha do\u011frusu kayba dikkat \u00e7ekmek; kaybedenin ya da kaybolan\u0131n sadece Rumlar olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6stermekti.<\/p>\n<p>Hangi ba\u015ftan sayarsak sayal\u0131m \u00fc\u00e7 binden fazla Rum\u2019un ya\u015famad\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu \u015fehirde Rumca bir roman\u0131 bin adet basmak gibi piyasa rasyonelleri itibar\u0131yla \u201cintihar\u00ee\u201d bu giri\u015fim, Rumca<span lang=\"en-us\">&#8216;<\/span>ya m\u00fctevaz\u0131 bir \u201ciade-i itibar\u201d giri\u015fimi asl\u0131nda.<\/p>\n<p>Yanl\u0131\u015f anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131n: Rumca<span lang=\"en-us\">&#8216;<\/span>n\u0131n art\u0131k geride kalm\u0131\u015f g\u00fczel g\u00fcnlerin ho\u015f bir sedas\u0131 olarak yadedilmesi de\u011fil hedefimiz. Rumlar\u0131n ya da sair \u201caz\u0131nl\u0131k\u201d topluluklar\u0131n \u201cnostaljikle\u015ftirilmesine\u201d, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin siyasal ve toplumsal g\u00fcncelli\u011finden ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131z sevimli bir folklorik unsur haline getirilmesine k\u00fclliyen kar\u015f\u0131y\u0131z. Bilakis nostaljiyi h\u00e2lihaz\u0131rda devam eden pratikle ikame etmek arzusunday\u0131z. Rumca bir kitap yay\u0131nlayarak bir \u201cbavula\u201d, ortak bavulumuza sadece iki de de\u011fil, \u00e7ok daha fazla dil s\u0131\u011fd\u0131rman\u0131n l\u00fcks de\u011fil zenginlik, hatta acil bir ihtiya\u00e7 oldu\u011funu biz de kendimizce hat\u0131rlatmak gayesindeyiz.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201c1964 ku\u015fa\u011f\u0131ndan\u201d iki insan<\/p>\n<p><\/b>Hristos Anagnostopulos\u2019un Anavoles kai Katiforoi (Ertelemeler ve Yoku\u015flar) adl\u0131 roman\u0131, \u201c1964 ku\u015fa\u011f\u0131ndan\u201d iki insan\u0131n hik\u00e2yesi. Bir \u00f6nceki c\u00fcmlede tashih yok; 1968 de\u011fil, \u201c1964 ku\u015fa\u011f\u0131\u201d s\u00f6z konusu. T\u00fcrk h\u00fck\u00fcmetinin K\u0131br\u0131s krizi ba\u011flam\u0131nda diplomatik bir koz gibi kulland\u0131\u011f\u0131 Rumlar\u0131n \u00f6nemli bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fc s\u00fcrg\u00fcn etmesi sonucu yurtlar\u0131ndan s\u00f6k\u00fcl\u00fcp at\u0131lan insanlardan olan Dimitri ve Yorgo\u2019nun, biri Yunanistan\u2019da, di\u011feri Almanya\u2019da bir t\u00fcrl\u00fc diki\u015f tutturamayan hayatlar\u0131 \u00fczerine bu anlat\u0131. K\u00f6ks\u00fcz kalmak, yerle\u015fememek, \u201cyerli\u201d olamamak, kendini bir t\u00fcrl\u00fc evinde hissedememek \u00fczerine. Nereye giderlerse gitsinler \u201cyabanc\u0131\u201d kalmaya mahk\u00fbm edilen bu iki insan\u0131n hayat\u0131 ertelenen ve dolay\u0131s\u0131yla da bir t\u00fcrl\u00fc al\u0131namayan kararlar nedeniyle havada kalm\u0131\u015f gibidir. Tehir edilmi\u015f tercih ve kararlarla dolu hayatlar\u0131, onlar\u0131 ister istemez s\u00fcrekli yoku\u015f a\u015fa\u011f\u0131 s\u00fcr\u00fckler.
