Bir gen\u00e7: Nahit a\u011fabey, biz Wub\u0131h as\u0131ll\u0131y\u0131z G\u00f6nen’de Adigelerin i\u00e7inde do\u011fduk b\u00fcy\u00fcd\u00fck kendimi Adige biliyorum. Tevfik Esen\u00e7<\/b>\u2019in Wub\u0131h dilini konu\u015fabilen son ki\u015fi olmas\u0131 nedeniyle, Guinness rekorlar kitab\u0131na giren ki\u015fi olmak gibi bir \u00f6zelli\u011fi vard\u0131r. Tevfik Esen\u00e7\u2019in 1992\u2019y\u0131l\u0131nda, 88 ya\u015f\u0131nda \u00f6lmesi, gerek Wub\u0131hlar gerekse dilbilimi a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan dramatik bir son olmu\u015ftur. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc cesur ve soylu bir halk\u0131n anadili, \u00f6l\u00fc diller aras\u0131na kat\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Tevfik Esen\u00e7 ile ilgili Zeynep Atikkan\u2019\u0131n 11 Haziran 1998 tarihli H\u00fcrriyet gazetesinde yay\u0131nlanan \u201cSabah Y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131 S\u00f6n\u00fcnce\u201d ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 yaz\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 olduk\u00e7a ayd\u0131nlat\u0131c\u0131d\u0131r. burada bir kere daha yay\u0131nlamakta yarar g\u00f6r\u00fcyorum:<\/p>\n

\u201c\u0130ngiltere’de yay\u0131nlanan Ekonomist dergisi ge\u00e7en haftaki say\u0131s\u0131nda neredeyse her g\u00fcn bir dilin yok oldu\u011funu yaz\u0131yordu. Tevfik Esen\u00e7 k\u00f6keni Hititlere kadar dayanan Wub\u0131hca’da \u2018kad\u0131n\u2019 kelimesinin kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n \u2018sabahy\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131\u2019 oldu\u011funu bana anlatm\u0131\u015ft\u0131.
\nDaha sonra dola\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131m bu k\u00f6yde bir kad\u0131n yoldan ge\u00e7erken kahvenin \u00f6n\u00fcnde oturan ya\u015fl\u0131, gen\u00e7 b\u00fct\u00fcn erkeklerin aya\u011fa kalkt\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6zlemi\u015ftim. Kad\u0131n\u0131n sabahy\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131yla \u00f6zde\u015fle\u015fti\u011fi bir k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcn \u00f6zelliklerini hep merak etmi\u015fimdir.<\/p>\n

Bu ara\u015ft\u0131rma, Frans\u0131zca-Wub\u0131hca bir s\u00f6zl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn do\u011fmas\u0131na, dolay\u0131s\u0131yla kaybolan bir dilin ar\u015fivlenmesine imk\u00e2n vermi\u015ftir.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wub\u0131hca, 81 sessiz harfi olan, d\u00f6rt bin kelimeden olu\u015fan, telaffuzu son derece g\u00fc\u00e7 \u201cSessiz harfler senfonisi\u201d olarak an\u0131lan bir dildir. Bu \u00f6zelliklerinden dolay\u0131 da Guinness rekorlar kitab\u0131nda ikinci kez yerini alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
