Sonradan Azakl\u0131, Dosma, \u00c7ar\u015f\u0131 i\u00e7i ve Ziraat bah\u00e7esi yak\u0131nlar\u0131nda da uzun y\u0131llar kald\u0131k. Yaz tatillerinde k\u00f6ye gider, okul zaman\u0131 yine geri d\u00f6nerdik. Ancak k\u00f6yde toplanmas\u0131 gereken \u00fcz\u00fcmleri b\u0131rakamad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z i\u00e7in okul ba\u015flasa bile biz \u00fcz\u00fcmleri toplar, pekmez ve k\u00fcmeleri yapar ondan sonra okula gidebilirdik. Bu durum, okula on be\u015f- yirmi hatta otuz g\u00fcn kadar ge\u00e7 ba\u015flamam\u0131za neden olurdu ki geri kald\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z dersleri yeti\u015ftirmekte olduk\u00e7a zorlan\u0131r veya ucunu b\u0131rak\u0131rd\u0131k. Bununla beraber, karnemizdeki zay\u0131flar daima bizim \u201ctembel\u201d damgas\u0131n\u0131 yememize neden olurdu.<\/p>\n<p>Ortaokulda ilk seneyi okumak i\u00e7in M\u00fc\u015fir ile beraber Zonguldak\u2019a teyzemin yan\u0131na gitmi\u015f ve bir ay ge\u00e7 ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z okulda hen\u00fcz s\u0131n\u0131fa ad\u0131m att\u0131\u011f\u0131m anda biyoloji dersinden yaz\u0131l\u0131 olmu\u015ftuk. Tabii ben o zamana kadar biyoloji ismini ilk defa duydu\u011fum gibi, sorulan sorular da benim i\u00e7in olduk\u00e7a anlams\u0131z ve sa\u00e7ma sapan \u015feylerdi. Sorular\u0131n alt\u0131na yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131m \u015fu c\u00fcmleyi hi\u00e7 unutamam: \u201c\u00d6\u011fretmenim, ben okula bug\u00fcn geldim. Bunlar\u0131 bilmiyorum; kusura bakma!\u201d. Tabii bu ba\u015flang\u0131\u00e7 b\u00fct\u00fcn y\u0131l boyu benzer \u015fekillerde devam edip gitti. O peri\u015fanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ya\u015fard\u0131k ama bu sefer Hopa\u2019dan Zonguldak\u2019a, daha \u00f6nceden yang\u0131n ge\u00e7irmi\u015f \u201cBak\u0131r\u201d isimli \u015filepten d\u00f6nme bir vapurla yedi g\u00fcn sekiz gecede gitmi\u015ftik. Yolculu\u011fumuz, bir kom\u015fu kad\u0131n\u0131n yan\u0131nda ve vapurun ambar k\u0131sm\u0131nda demirden m\u00fcte\u015fekkil zemin \u00fczerine at\u0131lan yayg\u0131lar\u0131n \u00fcst\u00fcnde ge\u00e7mi\u015fti. Tam kar\u015f\u0131m\u0131zdaki tuvaletten ta\u015fan ve \u00f6zellikle Sinop a\u00e7\u0131klar\u0131nda deniz tutmas\u0131ndan kaynaklanan ifrazatlardan (!) bahsetmek istemiyorum. \u00dcstelik o arada ben uyuz olmu\u015ftum ve eve gidince beni Arap sabunuyla y\u0131kayarak tedavi etmi\u015flerdi. Bir m\u00fcddet sonra da kabakulak oldum ve okuldan \u00fc\u00e7 hafta kadar daha uzak kald\u0131m.<\/p>\n<p>K\u00f6ye d\u00f6nd\u00fckten sonra Hopa Ortaokulunda birinci s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131 tekrar okumu\u015f ama yabanc\u0131 dil olarak yaln\u0131z Frans\u0131zca olmas\u0131 nedeniyle ilk sene i\u00e7inde birka\u00e7 kelimesini \u00f6\u011frendi\u011fim \u0130ngilizce de g\u00fcme gitmi\u015fti. Buna ra\u011fmen di\u011fer derslerim fena de\u011fildi. G\u00fczel sanatla ilgili olanlar ise \u015fahaneydi. Hopa\u2019dan k\u00f6y\u00fcm\u00fcze devaml\u0131 yaya olarak gidip gelirken M\u00fc\u015fir ile beraber m\u00fczik kitab\u0131ndaki solfejleri okuyarak iyice ezberlemi\u015ftik. \u0130kimizde de ses sorunu yoktu. En zor olan 25. solfeji bile \u00e7ok \u00e7ok rahat okuyorduk.<\/p>\n<p>Bir g\u00fcn m\u00fczik hocas\u0131, m\u00fczikten s\u00f6zl\u00fc imtihana tabi tuttu. S\u0131rayla herkese birer solfej okutup birka\u00e7 ki\u015fi hari\u00e7 herkese zay\u0131f notlar verirken s\u0131ra bana geldi. Bana ise en zor olan 25. solfeji okumam\u0131 s\u00f6yleyince hi\u00e7 teredd\u00fcts\u00fcz ve tam kural\u0131na uygun olarak okumaya ba\u015flad\u0131m. \u00d6yle ki kimsenin kolay kolay \u00e7\u0131karamayaca\u011f\u0131 o ince \u201cdo\u201dlar\u0131, \u201cre\u201dleri aynen okurken herkes hayretle beni dinliyordu. Ne var ki \u00f6nde oturan k\u0131zlar kendilerini tutamay\u0131p g\u00fclmeye ba\u015flamazlar m\u0131! Tabii ben birden \u015fa\u015f\u0131r\u0131p okumay\u0131 kestim ama hoca bana devam etmemi s\u00f6yleyince ben de devam edip bitirdim. Hoca bana d\u00f6n\u00fcp \u201con,\u201d dedi. K\u0131zlara da s\u0131f\u0131r\u0131 bast\u0131. B\u00f6ylelikle de arkada\u015flar\u0131n \u015fa\u015fk\u0131n bak\u0131\u015flar\u0131 aras\u0131nda m\u00fczik dersinden ilk defa on numara alan ki\u015fi olarak tarihe ge\u00e7mi\u015f oldum!<\/p>\n<p>Hopa\u2019da s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131 ge\u00e7tikten sonra ertesi y\u0131l Rize\u2019ye d\u00f6nm\u00fc\u015f ve ortaokulun ikinci s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131na kayd\u0131m\u0131 yapt\u0131rm\u0131\u015ft\u0131m. Asl\u0131nda okumaktan nefret ediyor ve i\u00e7imden babama k\u0131z\u0131yordum. Sa\u011fl\u0131\u011f\u0131m yerinde oldu\u011funa g\u00f6re herhangi bir in\u015faatta herhalde bana da bir i\u015f verirlerdi. Herkes gibi ben de karn\u0131m\u0131 doyuracak bir \u015feyler yapabilirdim. Tabii benim d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerimi kimse bilemiyor ve devaml\u0131 olarak ders \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmam\u0131z i\u00e7in \u015fiddetli bir bask\u0131 yap\u0131yorlard\u0131. Ben de inat edip ders \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131yordum. Kitaplar\u0131n sayfalar\u0131 aras\u0131na yerle\u015ftirdi\u011fim\u00a0 \u201cTom Miks, Teksas veya Pekos Bill\u201d cinsi resimli ve \u00e7izgili uyduruk \u015feyleri okuyordum. Sonradan durumu anlamas\u0131nlar diye onlar\u0131 formalara ay\u0131r\u0131p incelterek ders kitab\u0131n\u0131n yapraklar\u0131 aras\u0131na soku\u015fturuyordum. O da olmazsa mutlaka bo\u015f buldu\u011fum yerlerde resim karal\u0131yordum. Hatta bir ara ben de bir \u00e7izgi roman kahraman\u0131 yaratt\u0131m ve onu resimlemeye bile ba\u015flad\u0131m. Ne var ki onun devam\u0131n\u0131 da getiremedim. B\u00fct\u00fcn bunlara ra\u011fmen okulun ho\u015fuma giden taraflar\u0131 da vard\u0131. G\u00fczel sanata dayal\u0131 derslere kar\u015f\u0131 \u00e7ok a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 bir ilgim vard\u0131 ki onlara Frans\u0131zca da eklenmi\u015f. Hocam, karnemde bana kafadan hep on numara veriyordu. Karnemde tek olan bu numara, di\u011fer yamuk yumuk notlar\u0131n yan\u0131nda \u00e7ok tuhaf \u015fekilde s\u0131r\u0131t\u0131rd\u0131. Vapurlar\u0131n en iyisi me\u015fhur \u201cTar\u0131\u201d vapuru idi.<\/p>\n<p>Okumaya kar\u015f\u0131 ilgimin artmas\u0131 \u015f\u00f6yle olmu\u015ftu: Ortaokulun ikinci s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131nda ikinci y\u0131l okurken karnemde yine bir s\u00fcr\u00fc zay\u0131f vard\u0131. Bir g\u00fcn, Frans\u0131zca \u00f6\u011fretmenimiz hastaland\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in bo\u015f ge\u00e7mekte olan dersimize tarih ve co\u011frafya dersimizin \u00f6\u011fretmeni geldi. Kendisi Frans\u0131zcay\u0131 iyi bildi\u011fini g\u00f6stermek i\u00e7in biraz nutuk \u00e7ektikten sonra da herkese sorular sormaya ba\u015flad\u0131. Herkes \u00e7uvallarken benden tak\u0131r tak\u0131r cevaplar al\u0131nca da bir hayli \u015fa\u015f\u0131rd\u0131. O \u015fa\u015fk\u0131nl\u0131k i\u00e7inde de bana d\u00f6n\u00fcp:<\/p>\n<p>-Benim duyduklar\u0131m do\u011fru mu? Sen hi\u00e7 de tembel bir talebeye benzemiyorsun. Deyince arkada\u015flar hemen:<\/p>\n<p>-Hocam, Y\u0131lmaz bizim yedek Frans\u0131zca hocam\u0131z. Kendisi Frans\u0131zca \u015fiir bile yaz\u0131yor, diye araya girdiler. Bunun \u00fczerine hoca da karma\u015f\u0131k duygular i\u00e7inde tekrar bana:<\/p>\n<p>-Do\u011fru mu bu? Diye sorunca ben de s\u0131k\u0131larak:-Di\u011fer derslerden biraz daha iyiyim, diye cevap verdim.<\/p>\n<p>Her neyse! Hocam benim nas\u0131l d\u00e2hiyane (!) bir zek\u00e2ya sahip oldu\u011fumu anlad\u0131\u011f\u0131nda:<\/p>\n<p>-Demek senin kafan \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yor! Ama sen benim derslerime \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131yorsun! Hele \u015fimdiden sonra\u00a0 benden d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck not al da g\u00f6r bakal\u0131m neler oluyor, diye serzeni\u015fte bulundu. Ben de \u201cs\u00f6z hocam, art\u0131k tembellik yok!\u201d\u00a0 diye cevap verdim.<\/p>\n<p>Benim i\u00e7in, verilen s\u00f6z\u00fcn tutulmamas\u0131 i\u00e7in araya ancak \u00e7ok b\u00fcy\u00fck bir engelin girmesi gerekir. Oysa s\u00f6z\u00fcm\u00fc tutabilmem i\u00e7inse notlar\u0131m\u0131 bir anda d\u00fczeltmemin imk\u00e2n\u0131 yoktu. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc kitaplar\u0131 ba\u015f\u0131ndan itibaren \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmam gerekiyordu ve ilk s\u0131nav i\u00e7in de sadece bir haftal\u0131k bir\u00a0 zaman kalm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Sonu\u00e7ta, ertesi haftaki imtihanlarda zorunlu olarak \u00e7ok az bilinen kopya \u00e7ekme metotlar\u0131ndan birini uygulamak suretiyle ald\u0131\u011f\u0131m y\u00fcksek notla hocay\u0131 olduk\u00e7a memnun ettim. Bu arada ders \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmay\u0131 \u00f6\u011frenmem nedeniyle, \u00f6\u011frencilik hayat\u0131mda ilk defa olarak tarih ve co\u011frafya gibi derslerden \u00e7ok y\u00fcksek notlar al\u0131\u015f\u0131m beni a\u015fka getirmi\u015f ve baya\u011f\u0131 ders \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131m. \u0130\u015fte o g\u00fcnden sonra b\u00fct\u00fcn okullardaki bir\u00e7ok derslerimizde en iyi \u00f6\u011frencilerden biri oldum. Bu dersler i\u00e7inde sadece matemati\u011fim \u00e7ok berbatt\u0131 ama cebir dersine ba\u015flamam\u0131zla beraber, matematikte de harikalar yaratmaya ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131m.<\/p>\n<p>Ortaokul s\u0131ralar\u0131nda iken resme kar\u015f\u0131 karasevda derecesinde a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 bir ilgim de vard\u0131 ki en k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck bo\u015f an\u0131mda bile elim asla bo\u015f durmaz, mutlaka bir \u015feyler karalard\u0131m. S\u0131n\u0131fta arkada\u015flar, zorland\u0131klar\u0131 resimlerini k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck bir \u00fccret kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda bana yapt\u0131r\u0131rlard\u0131. Manzara veya portre ne olursa olsun resmin her t\u00fcrl\u00fcs\u00fcn\u00fc yap\u0131yordum. \u00d6yle ki arkada\u015flar\u0131n getirdikleri, p\u00f6rs\u00fcy\u00fcp da\u011f\u0131lm\u0131\u015f vesikal\u0131k resimleri bile karakalemle aynen b\u00fcy\u00fct\u00fcyordum. Bu ama\u00e7la ilerde g\u00fczel sanatlarda okumay\u0131 kafaya koymu\u015ftum. Tatilde k\u00f6ye gitti\u011fimde killi topraktan yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m ara\u00e7 gere\u00e7 ve heykelleri yanan ate\u015fin k\u00fcl\u00fcne g\u00f6m\u00fcp kurutarak heykelt\u0131ra\u015fl\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131 da herkese g\u00f6sterirdim. Sesim \u00e7ok g\u00fczeldi. Hem halk m\u00fczi\u011fi, hem de sanat m\u00fczi\u011fini o kadar g\u00fczel okurdum ki duyanlar k\u00f6yde radyo olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 halde bu radyo sesinin nereden geldi\u011fini tahmin etmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rlard\u0131. O devirlerde kimsede radyo olmay\u0131\u015f\u0131 da milletin merak\u0131n\u0131 daha da artt\u0131r\u0131yordu. Ben yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m i\u015fte en iyi olmal\u0131yd\u0131m! \u0130\u015fte bu ahval ve \u015ferait i\u00e7inde birtak\u0131m ac\u0131 ve tatl\u0131 hat\u0131ralar\u0131 geride b\u0131rakmak suretiyle ortaokul, be\u015f sene gibi k\u0131sac\u0131k (!) bir sure i\u00e7inde bitiverdi.<\/p>\n<p>Ortaokul bitiminde liseye kayd\u0131m\u0131 yapt\u0131r\u0131p bir g\u00fcn ders g\u00f6rd\u00fcm. O g\u00fcn, bir saat m\u00fczik dersimiz vard\u0131. Hoca, tahtada iki s\u0131ra alt alta porteleri \u00e7izdikten sonra i\u00e7lerini notalarla doldurdu. \u00dcst\u00fcne de, \u201cYunus Emre Oratoryosu\u201d Ba\u015fl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 koyduktan sonra bizlere d\u00f6n\u00fcp:<\/p>\n<p>-Kim okuyacak? Diye sordu.<\/p>\n<p>Arkada\u015flar \u00e7ok denediler ama hoca hi\u00e7birini be\u011fenmedi.<\/p>\n<p>-Ben okuyay\u0131m, hocam! Diye parmak kald\u0131rd\u0131m ve okudum. Hocam arkada\u015flara d\u00f6n\u00fcp:<\/p>\n<p>-\u0130\u015fte, ben b\u00f6yle talebe istiyorum! Deyince d\u00fcnyalar benim oldu. Lisede ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 olabilece\u011fimi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnmeye bile ba\u015flad\u0131m. Ancak hocam benim gibi bir \u00f6\u011frenciye sahip olamad\u0131. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc eve gidince babam bana:<\/p>\n<p>-Okul i\u015fini ne yapt\u0131n? Diye sorunca, ben de liseye kay\u0131t yapt\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131 s\u00f6yledim. Babam k\u0131sa bir teredd\u00fctten sonra:<\/p>\n<p>-Liseye gidip okulu uzataca\u011f\u0131na bence sanat okuluna gitsen daha iyi olurdu. Deyince, akl\u0131ma birden babam\u0131n madd\u00ee s\u0131k\u0131nt\u0131s\u0131 geldi ve buruk bir \u015fekilde, \u201cPeki, olur!\u201d Diyerek kabul ettim. Ertesi g\u00fcn, liseden kay\u0131tlar\u0131m\u0131 al\u0131p \u201cErkek Sanat Enstit\u00fcs\u00fcne\u201d kay\u0131t oldum ve bir g\u00fcn de orada okudum. Bir g\u00fcn de orada okudum ama arkada\u015flar\u0131m\u0131n \u00e7o\u011funun Yap\u0131 Enstit\u00fcs\u00fcne devam ettiklerini \u00f6\u011frenince, ertesi g\u00fcn de oran\u0131n kap\u0131s\u0131na dayand\u0131m. M\u00fcd\u00fcr muavinine durumu anlat\u0131nca bana:<\/p>\n<p>-Kay\u0131tlar\u0131m\u0131z doldu. Maalesef seni alamam! Dedi. Ben \u0131srar ettim.<\/p>\n<p>-Kay\u0131tlar\u0131n\u0131z dolu olsa bile ben burada okumak istiyorum! Dedim. Hoca ile hayli cebelle\u015ftikten sonra kap\u0131dan i\u00e7eriye Arde\u015fenli oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yleyen bir adam ve o\u011flu girdi. Adam hocaya d\u00f6n\u00fcp:<\/p>\n<p>-Hocam, o\u011flumun kayd\u0131 i\u00e7in bana s\u00f6z vermi\u015ftiniz. \u0130\u015fte onu al\u0131p getirdim deyince hoca ona verdi\u011fi s\u00f6z\u00fc tutmak zorunda kald\u0131.
