1921 y\u0131l\u0131nda Heybeliada\u2019daki Y\u00fcksek Denizcilik Okulu’nu bitirdi. 1922 y\u0131l\u0131nda ilk karikat\u00fcrlerini Aydede dergisinde yay\u0131mlad\u0131. 1926 – 1928 aras\u0131nda \u0130smet \u0130n\u00f6n\u00fc’n\u00fcn deste\u011fiyle, Paris’te resim e\u011fitimi g\u00f6rd\u00fc. T\u00fcrkiye’ye d\u00f6nd\u00fckten sonra resim \u00f6\u011fretmenli\u011fi ve \u00e7e\u015fitli bas\u0131n organlar\u0131nda \u00e7izerlik yapt\u0131. 1936 y\u0131l\u0131nda Ankara’ya yerle\u015fen sanat\u00e7\u0131, baz\u0131 resmi kurumlarda ressam olarak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n yan\u0131nda, Ulus gazetesinde karikat\u00fcrler \u00e7izdi.<\/p>\n

1950 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130stanbul’a d\u00f6nerek H\u00fcrriyet gazetesinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flad\u0131. Halk ad\u0131nda bir gazete \u00e7\u0131karma giri\u015fimi k\u0131sa \u00f6m\u00fcrl\u00fc oldu. Ulus gazetesinde \u00e7izdi\u011fi siyasi i\u00e7erikli bir ele\u015ftiri karikat\u00fcr\u00fc nedeniyle 1956 y\u0131l\u0131nda 18 ay hapis cezas\u0131 ald\u0131. Cezaevinden \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131ktan sonra 1961 y\u0131l\u0131nda Kurucu Meclis’e CHP \u00fcyesi olarak girdi. 1961 – 1965 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda CHP milletvekilli\u011fi yapan Burak, Ak\u015fam ve Yeni \u0130stanbul gazetelerine \u00e7izgi roman serileri \u00fcretti. Baz\u0131 yap\u0131tlar\u0131 da kitapla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n
