Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi’ni bitirdikten sonra 1912 \u2018de Fransa’ya gitmi\u015f ve Paris’te Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratif ‘de Julians ve Cormon At\u00f6lyesi’nde 1914 y\u0131l\u0131na kadar \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Birinci D\u00fcnya Sava\u015f\u0131 s\u0131ras\u0131nda T\u00fcrkiye’ye d\u00f6n\u00fcp; Kafkas Cephesi‘<\/span>nde sava\u015fma\u011fa gitmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n

\u015ei\u015fli’de kurulan at\u00f6lyede bir grup ressamla birlikte sava\u015f tablolar \u0131 yapan Nam\u0131k \u0130smail ; ressam ve sanat tarih\u00e7isi Celal Esat Arseven ile birlikte de T\u00fcrk ressamlar \u0131 yap\u0131t lar\u0131n\u0131 sergilemek \u00fczere 1917 \u2018de Berlin ve Viyana’ya gitmi\u015ftir. Berlin’de iki y\u0131l kal\u0131p ; Corynth ve Liebermann at\u00f6lyelerinde ve m\u00fczelerinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Galatasaray Sergileri’nde resim ki\u015fili\u011fini tan\u0131tan sanat\u00e7\u0131, bir s\u00fcre resim \u00f6\u011fretmenli\u011fi, G\u00fczel Sanatlar Akademisi M\u00fcd\u00fcr yard\u0131mc\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve Milli E\u011fitim M\u00fcfetti\u015fli\u011fi g\u00f6revlerinide yerine getirmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n

Ressam Namık İsmail 1890 doğumlu olup Tophane veznedarı Çerkes İsmail Bey’in oğludur.
