Heybeliada Bahriye Mektebi\u2019ndeki tahsilini takiben 1923 y\u0131l\u0131nda Gv.M\u00fchendis (Te\u011fmen) r\u00fctbesiyle mezun olmu\u015ftur. 01 Mart 1923- 15 Ekim 1924 tarihleri aras\u0131nda Hamidiye ve Yavuz gemilerinde tahsil ve staj g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. \u00c7e\u015fitli gemilerde g\u00f6rev yapt\u0131ktan sonra, 1931 y\u0131l\u0131nda girdi\u011fi Deniz Harp Akademisini 1933 y\u0131l\u0131nda bitirerek Kurmay Subay olmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n Muhtelif gemi ve karargah g\u00f6revleri ile Roma ve Berlin Deniz Ata\u015feliklerinde bulunmu\u015ftur. 1950 y\u0131l\u0131nda Tu\u011famiral, 1953 y\u0131l\u0131nda T\u00fcmamiral, 1956 y\u0131l\u0131nda Koramiral, 1958 y\u0131l\u0131nda Oramiralli\u011fe y\u00fckselmi\u015ftir. Emeklilik d\u00f6neminde Cumhuriyet Senatosunda Kontenjan Senat\u00f6rl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc ve1973 – 1980 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda T\u00fcrkiye Cumhuriyeti\u2019nin 6.
