1883 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130stanbul’da do\u011fdu. B\u00fcy\u00fck \u00c7erkes s\u00fcrg\u00fcn\u00fcnde Anadolu’ya g\u00f6\u00e7 eden Therhet adl\u0131 bir W<\/span>ub\u0131h ailesinden olan Mehmet Cahit Bey’in o\u011fludur. Harp Okulunu 1902’de bitirdi. Beyrut ve Hicaz’da (1902- 1909) bulundu. Osmanl\u0131-\u0130talyan sava\u015flar\u0131nda bulundu. Balkan Sava\u015f\u0131na ve I. D\u00fcnya Sava\u015f\u0131na kat\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n

Kurtulu\u015f Sava\u015f\u0131’nda 5. Kafkas T\u00fcmeni Komutan\u0131 olarak Bat\u0131 Cephesinde Sava\u015fan Toydemir, 1927’de T\u00fcmgeneral, 1933’de Korgeneral oldu.<\/p>\n

1942’de Orgeneralli\u011fe y\u00fckselerek Askeri Yarg\u0131tay Ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve 1. Ordu Komutanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 (1943) yapt\u0131. 1946’da emekliye ayr\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n

1946’da VIII. D\u00f6nem CHP \u0130stanbul Milletvekili se\u00e7ildi. Recep Peker h\u00fck\u00fcmeti d\u00f6neminde Mill\u00ee Savunma Bakan\u0131 (1946-1947) olarak g\u00f6rev yapt\u0131.<\/p>\n
