Simgeci (sembolist) bir yakla\u015f\u0131mla lirik resimler yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n Resme ilgisi \u00e7ocuk ya\u015flarda ba\u015flad\u0131. Do\u011fumundan k\u0131sa bir s\u00fcre sonra ailesi \u0130stanbul’a geldi. N\u00fcmune-i Terakki Mektebi’nde (\u0130stanbul Lisesi) e\u011fitim g\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc y\u0131llarda ilk resimlerini yapt\u0131. K\u0131sa s\u00fcre sonra Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi’nde e\u011fitim g\u00f6rd\u00fc, sonra Osman Hamdi Bey’in \u00f6nerisi \u00fczerine \u015eehzade Abd\u00fclmecit taraf\u0131ndan Paris’e g\u00f6nderildi.<\/p>\n 1909-1912 aras\u0131nda, akademik anlay\u0131\u015fta resimler yapan Fernand Cormon’un at\u00f6lyesinde \u00f6\u011frenim g\u00f6rd\u00fc. Ancak bu at\u00f6lyedeki kat\u0131 kuralc\u0131 tutumu benimsemedi, simgeci Frans\u0131z ressam Puvis de Chavannes’\u0131 kendine model ald\u0131.<\/p>\n 1912’de Osmanl\u0131’ya d\u00f6nd\u00fc ve 1923’e de\u011fin \u00e7e\u015fitli liselerde resim \u00f6\u011fretmenli\u011fi g\u00f6revinde bulundu. 1914-1918 aras\u0131nda d\u00f6nemi h\u00fck\u00fcmetince \u015ei\u015fli’de kurulan bir at\u00f6lyede Nazmi Ziya, Nam\u0131k \u0130smail, Hikmet Onar ve \u0130brahim \u00c7all\u0131 ile birlikte bir s\u00fcre \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131, sava\u015f resimleri yapt\u0131. 1924’te sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi’nde \u00f6\u011fretmen oldu. 1926’da bir ay Paris’te kald\u0131 ve dekoratif sanatlar \u00f6\u011fretimi ile ilgili incelemeler yapt\u0131. \u0130stanbul’a d\u00f6nd\u00fckten sonra ayn\u0131 kurumda s\u00fcsleme dersleri verdi.<\/p>\n Lifij romantik ve simgeci yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 ile 1910 ku\u015fa\u011f\u0131 sanat\u00e7\u0131lar\u0131ndan farkl\u0131 bir \u00fcslup geli\u015ftirmi\u015ftir. Daha \u00e7ok ak\u015fam \u0131\u015f\u0131klar\u0131 i\u00e7inde resimledi\u011fi manzaralar\u0131 izlenimci (empresyonist) bir yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 an\u0131msatsa da, bunlardaki do\u011fa, \u0130zlenimciler’in bilimsel renk \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcmlemeleriyle bakt\u0131klar\u0131 do\u011fadan farkl\u0131, \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n bur anl\u0131k de\u011fi\u015fimiyle yakalanan bir zaman kesitidir.<\/p>\n Lifij renkleri ustaca kullanarak \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n gizemli etkisiyle \u015fiirsel bir atmosfer yaratm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. I\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 renklere ayr\u0131\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131yla izlenimci, \u00f6zellikle b\u00fcy\u00fck fig\u00fcrl\u00fc kompozisyonlar\u0131ndaki kurgu ve desenleriyle akademik konular\u0131 ele al\u0131\u015f bi\u00e7imiyle de simgeci bir tutum i\u00e7inde olmu\u015ftur. Ancak b\u00fct\u00fcn bu \u00f6zelliklerin bire\u015fimi niteli\u011findeki resimi sonu\u00e7ta daha \u00e7ok simgecilere yakla\u015f\u0131r.
